Happy New Year (& January Sale now on!)

Albeit a little later than planned (thanks to finally succumbing to a cold), the Hedge Wych January Sale has started, with loads of products listed at vastly discounted rates!

This week we’ve started replenishing the shelves after an incredibly busy Christmas period so the first of the 2017 soap batches will be available to purchase soon.

Also keep an eye out on the website and Facebook for a whole load of new products that were cosmetic safety certified at the end of last year, ready to hit production early this year! 2017 is set to be even better than 2016!

News from the Hedge Wych Kitchen

The house smells lovely at the moment. Having had our Winter soap collection certified, I’m now making batches ready to start playing around with suitably seasonal packaging. These pictures were taken last night so they’re a little dark, but I think they show the general idea!

887338_528779310618744_3108170574725081643_oFirst to cure is Winter Snow – a creamy white, pure coconut brine soap scented with Peppermint, Pine, Cinnamon and Clove essential oils. This baby smells delicious…

I was playing around with some new snowflake moulds, to make some ‘stocking fillers’, but got a little impatient waiting for them to harden so the one pictured was a little soft coming out of the mould. The others look much better and the sprinkle of ground sea salt adds just a hint of icy sparkle. The Winter seasonal soaps should be available from November but will be available for pre-order from mid-October.

The second soap of the week is Black Tie. This will hopefully become one of the standard variations of my coconut brine bars, and is designed with men in mind. Black Tie has a deep spicy-woody fragrance of Cedarwood, Bergamot and Clove essential oils. The activated charcoal does make the lather a little grey, but that doesn’t affect its cleansing properties in any way!

Next batch I’m aiming for a little more swirl in the design (I took a little long getting this into the mould so it was already setting by the time I was ready to swirl), but this batch should be ready and available in October.

Hello World, and Welcome!

Hello and welcome to the soft launch of Hedge Wych!

The last few months has been a whirlwind of testing our recipes, fragrance combinations and designs, culminating in our product launch this week at the Carshalton Environmental Fair on (an exceedingly wet) August Bank Holiday Monday.

I’d like to thank everyone who visited our stall and gave such wonderful feedback – it’s lovely to know you can smell our soaps from a distance! 🙂

Whist the products listed on the website are what we currently have in stock, there are more products currently in development and awaiting certification, including a range of seasonal and Christmas-themed soaps, hand and body balms, handmade 100% cotton facecloths and beautiful ceramic soap dishes. Keep an eye on my blog to see what’s coming soon to the website and local craft fairs!
